PRACTICE MARCH 10TH 7:00PM @ THE ZONE

BOARDER WAR 2010
The first annual Border War featuring minor league football teams from the Oregon Football League and Washington is set for March 13 at Milwaukie High School. And there'll be a number of familiar faces involved in the three games.

The Portland Monarchs, the defending OFL champion, will test the South Sound Shockers of Lacey, Wash., the Springfield Buzzards play the North Sound Sting of Oak Harbor, Wash., and the Umpqua Valley Knights of Roseburg play the Kitsap County Bears of Poulsbo, Wash.
Proceeds from the Border War will benefit a pair of Oregonians: Cindi Mills and Wendy Morrison, who have recently been diagnosed with cancer.

Former University of Oregon standout Robin Knebel has joined the Umpqua Valley Knights. Knebel, who played center, guard and tackle at Oregon, suited up for the Baltimore Ravens during their training camp in 2005.

Portland features a number of former in-state standouts led by former Portland State University and Grand High star Aaron Dickson, and former Oregon State University and Wilson High receiver Nick Bodeman. Former Portland State quarterback Russell Schneider starts at quarterback for the Monarchs, who won the OFL title the past two seasons. The team is coached by The Oregonian sportswriter Aaron Fentress.

Springfield features a slew of players with high school and small college experience, including former Midwestern League first-team lineman Levi Snodgrass.

North Sound, which plays in the Washington Football League, plays Springfield at noon.
Kitsap County, which plays in the North American Football League’s Northwest Division, plays Umpqua Valley at 3:30 p.m.

South Sound, which also plays in the WFL, plays Portland at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $10 at the gate.

Bears DOMINATE in Vegas!

Las Vegas, Nevada-The Kitsap County Bears won the Far West Bowl Championship game with a blow out over the East Las Vegas Cobras, Champions of the Wild West League's Spring season. The Wild West League plays both a Spring and Summer seasons.
The Cobras scored on the opening drive of the game, missed the extra point and were never heard from again as the Bears took control and dominated the game. The Bears were on the Cobras 3-yard line with time for one last score, but chose to have their QB take a knee in respect for their out classed opponent.
