Bears get only win for Washington Teams In Border War.

Defense was the key to a sloppy game, as both the Knights and Bears stuffed drives inside their 1-yard line. The Knights stopped the Bears, inside the 1 on the final play of the first half to maintain a 6-0 lead it took on a 6-yard run by Jeremy Burrows on the final play of the first quarter, capping a 27-yard drive set up by an interception.
The Knights had an 11-play drive in the third quarter reach the Bears' 18, but the Bears came up with an interception in the end zone that ended the drive. The Knights recovered a fumble at the Bears' 17 to start their next drive and reached the 2, but a fourth-down play gained just one yard and again the Bears Defense stuffed the Knights inside the redzone.

Two possessions later, The Bears forced and recovered an Umpqua Valley fumble and marched 69 yards in 10 plays with Ej Ash punching it in from the 2 yard line to tie the game.
With time winding down in the 4th quater the Bears stopped the Knights on fourth down at the Kitsap County 10, the Bears took the lead on a 69-yard run by EJ Ash with 2:45 left in the game.
On the final drive the Knights reached Kitsap County territory, but an interception ended the drive and the Bears ran out the clock.

BOARDER WAR 2010
The first annual Border War featuring minor league football teams from the Oregon Football League and Washington is set for March 13 at Milwaukie High School. And there'll be a number of familiar faces involved in the three games.
The Portland Monarchs, the defending OFL champion, will test the South Sound Shockers of Lacey, Wash., the Springfield Buzzards play the North Sound Sting of Oak Harbor, Wash., and the Umpqua Valley Knights of Roseburg play the Kitsap County Bears of Poulsbo, Wash.
Proceeds from the Border War will benefit a pair of Oregonians: Cindi Mills and Wendy Morrison, who have recently been diagnosed with cancer.
Former University of Oregon standout Robin Knebel has joined the Umpqua Valley Knights. Knebel, who played center, guard and tackle at Oregon, suited up for the Baltimore Ravens during their training camp in 2005.
Portland features a number of former in-state standouts led by former Portland State University and Grand High star Aaron Dickson, and former Oregon State University and Wilson High receiver Nick Bodeman. Former Portland State quarterback Russell Schneider starts at quarterback for the Monarchs, who won the OFL title the past two seasons. The team is coached by The Oregonian sportswriter Aaron Fentress.
Springfield features a slew of players with high school and small college experience, including former Midwestern League first-team lineman Levi Snodgrass.
North Sound, which plays in the Washington Football League, plays Springfield at noon.
Kitsap County, which plays in the North American Football League’s Northwest Division, plays Umpqua Valley at 3:30 p.m.
South Sound, which also plays in the WFL, plays Portland at 7 p.m.

Bears DOMINATE in Vegas!
Las Vegas, Nevada-The Kitsap County Bears won the Far West Bowl Championship game with a blow out over the East Las Vegas Cobras, Champions of the Wild West League's Spring season. The Wild West League plays both a Spring and Summer seasons.
The Cobras scored on the opening drive of the game, missed the extra point and were never heard from again as the Bears took control and dominated the game. The Bears were on the Cobras 3-yard line with time for one last score, but chose to have their QB take a knee in respect for their out classed opponent.
